Bayleys Whanganui and Bayleys Ruapehu has strengthened its offering after owner John Bartley acquired Bayleys Manawatu.
The deal which Bartley says was nearly a year in the making will see him take over offices in Palmerston North and Feilding as well as a rebrand of his existing Marton agency. The move will boost the team to 65 salespeople, property managers, support staff and managers across five offices.
“I've had Bayleys Whanganui and Ruapehu for six years, and naturally this opportunity presented itself early last year.”
The deal was signed off in the middle of January, and the team have already hit the ground running.
“We’ve got a very capable management team led by our Regional General Manager Rachel Thompson. They’ve been key in getting things started, setting the values and culture we want within the business and really driving the growth opportunities we have out there.”
Bartley says the purchase will be instrumental in the business’ growth strategy and will give all five offices the ability to better serve the market right across the Whanganui-Manawatu district.
“It gives us a larger footprint and a bigger buyer pool. It also helps with operational efficiency by allowing us to utilise administrators and managers right across the regions without taking anything away from the customer experience.”
“Our aim is to maintain exceptional customer service and build on existing relationships.”
Bartley who was born and bred in Whanganui says there are some key differences between the three regions, and it’ll be a priority for the team to increase the connectivity between them while ensuring individual needs are also met.
“We're a family business at heart and we want to look after our people.”
“I think if we do the basics well, and do real estate really well, we’ll get results and great results for our clients.”
After a challenging year for the real estate market in 2024 Bartley says taking over Manawatu’s offices has enabled his team to start off 2025 in the best position possible.
“Quite simply our goal is to grow. That’s about getting the right people on board with fresh ideas, but it’s also about making sure that our existing people have the right support systems, training and leadership to succeed and flourish.”
“We're really stoked about this opportunity. Not only for our agents but for our clients as we help guide them into their next dream home.”
